For many years I used to read Matthew 7:21-22 without understanding completely what Jesus was talking about. I understood the words, but thought it was quite unbelievable that there is someone who thinks he is saved, heals the sick, casts out demons and calls Jesus Lord, but is not saved at all.

Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven

"Jesus, of course you are the most important, but let me just first settle....". Do you recognize yourself in the sentence? Maybe you do, or maybe you did not think so much about who actually comes first in your life. Of course Jesus is the first, but one just has a couple of things one "has to" do.
